Couch Potatoes

Is this a joke:

British potato farmers demonstrated outside Parliament on Monday to publicize their bid to remove the term “couch potato” from the Oxford English Dictionary, arguing that the description of slothful TV addicts harms the vegetable’s image.

TiddlyWiki

This is one of the dopest uses of javascript yet:

GTDTiddlyWiki - all your tasks are belong to you

It’s a javascript/css wiki that operates entirely on the client side.

I now have one saved as a plain html file on my USB thumbdrive, so I can carry my todo lists everywhere I go. I can just stick the drive into any nearby computer, fire up the web browser and manage my lists.

In particular, this is cool for music stuff. I have a todo list of all the projects I’m currently committed to. I can put lyrical ideas directly in the wiki, and even link to external mp3s (or mp3s stored elsewhere on the thumbdrive!)

I’m still figuring things out, but this is really awesome.

CrimeFighter

I think this is the most entertaining absurd-celebrity-baby-name yet:

Weeeee!

Don’t you love it when your 6 month old son pees all over your $250 universal remote?

Having experienced several other tragic diaper changings, I guess it could have been much worse!

Lego Star Wars

I thought I’d mention that I picked up the Xbox version of this game last weekend:

It’s pretty great, and you can play it around little kids. Huzzah!

The best parts are the story cutscenes that “reimagine” key scenes from the movies using Legos. They are a hoot.

Oh, and there’s a PC demo available.

Live 5

I saw this news item and the “halleluiah chorus” flew into my head:

KVR : Ableton announces Live 5

I will be purchasing this upgrade the minute it is available.
