Songfight’s illustrious fightmasters, JB and Spud were on a show called Attack of the Show last night.
Part of their appearance involved the hosts selecting a title at random from the show’s chatroom and having the two of them create a song during the show and performing it at the end (the show is aired live).
They posted the title on a special songfight page and a bunch of us made our own version of the song in about 30 minutes. The title was “Prayer for Pancakes.”

The visitors’ locker room in the University of Iowa’s stadium is all pink. It was originally done to psychologically subvert the opposing team. Wonderful idea.
Recent remodeling however has brought this situation to light, and some people are not amused:
Critics say the use of pink demeans women, perpetuates offensive stereotypes about women and homosexuality, and puts the university in the uncomfortable position of tacitly supporting those messages.
Now, if you ask me, it’s perpetuating a stereotype of the color pink! What’s wrong with that?
The only person-related stereotype being perpetuated here is that civil-rights-type lawyers are opportunistic and self-righteous.
The Dynamic Steppers, a Wichita drill team, were practicing routines Saturday night when members of another drill team, the White Tigers, showed up and challenged the others to a “dance-off,” police said.

This German guy invented a replacement for diesel fuel made from dead cats. Maybe it’s insensitive, but it beats paying $3+ per gallon!

A school in PA is playing Hanson’s “MMMBop” repeatedly until they raise $3000 for Katrina relief. It’s working. Let’s just hope it doesn’t inspire any school shootings.

Rich Davey’s “Let’s Go Back”
I lived in New Orleans for a while, and this whole event makes me terribly sad (I’m so sensitive).
I haven’t wanted to talk about it or post anything about it, but this article made me laugh. A glimpse of how bizarre and wonderful this town is/was/can be:
