New Ph.D. Pursuit

As of yesterday, I have officially applied for UTC’s Computational Engineering Program, as a Ph.D. student.

It’s funny how things work out. This is so different from what I was trying to do last year, but in many ways it’s a better fit for me. I’ve had several conversations with faculty in the department, and it feels like it’s meant to be.

The obligatory theological twist: I feel like God has led us here to Chattanooga, and it may be that this program is the reason why. Regardless of how this works out, I know His will is perfect, and His plan is in full effect. So, I cannot lose!

The obligatory musical twist: My goal for a while now has been to do a Starfinger album. I’m dedicating the next 6 months or so to completing that, before my potential schooling starts. I have a concept that I’m very excited about, but I am going to try to wait until the whole thing is finished before I make it public. On the other hand, I will also probably try to solicit some help from my various songfighting cohorts. So a lot of my loyal readers will probably be in the know sooner rather than later.

Word up!

It is an exciting time!

Hey Craig, that’s great to hear about the PhD program. It’s so important to find a program where you are comfortable - you’re going to be spending a lot of time with those people, right?
